Prep Music Tour

Congratulations to our Vox Pops music group who recently toured the Fleurieu Peninsula. A group of 44 students performed four concerts at Seacliff Primary School, Victor Harbor Primary School and Port Elliot Primary School between Wednesday 13 and Friday 15 September.

The show they performed was called ‘All the Feels’. The script and musical arrangements were cleverly written by Mrs Elena Harrison and endorsed by the creators of the student Wellbeing program ‘The Learning Curve’. This show, which was specially created for a primary school audience, explored the range of emotions everyone experiences in daily life. ‘All the Feels’ featured smash hits from Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, Justin Timberlake, Jon Bellion, Charlie Puth, and Selena Gomez, in addition to powerful songs from musicals ‘Matilda’ and Disney's ‘Moana’.

Congratulations to the Westminster students who not only performed to a very high standard at all times but also proudly represented Westminster School. There were many highlights and special memories created, but probably the most outstanding response from an audience was at the first Victor Harbor Primary School concert. Students and staff were so energised by the show, we witnessed some fantastic break dancing and gymnastic moves, and a conga line that included at least 100 children. Thank you to all the staff and students who were a part of this memorable tour. Our final tour show at Port Elliot Primary School was recorded and can be found here: https://youtu.be/HnTEk3Be03k

Kidz Biz

Recently Kidz Biz Education ran two information sessions focusing on the social and personal development of our students. The sessions were aimed at our Year 4 and 6 students.

Designed to be fun, informative and easy to understand, these highly interactive sessions provided students and their parents/caregivers with an introduction to basic personal and social development education; traditionally known as the ‘facts of life’.

The sessions were facilitated in an outstanding manner that made what is sometimes an awkward conversation very comfortable.  The two sessions covered:

Session 1: ‘Where Did We Come From?’ and Session 2 ‘What’s Happening To Us?’

District Athletics 2017

We mentioned in our last edition that Westminster had won the District Athletics Shield for 2017. An omission was to mention that Tim Alver (Year 4 Abbey) was the winner of the 200m for 10 year olds. We wish him well at State Day.
