This Sunday marks the beginning of National Boarding Week around Australia. There are approximately 188 boarding schools around the country and 22 000 boarders. Here at Westminster we have 120 boarders who call our School home. During National Boarding Week, we will welcome our School Captain and Vice Captain into the Boarding House to experience a week in the life of a boarder. This week we will also celebrate at our mid-year dinner, all the things that make boarding so enjoyable and special. This is a great event that the boarders look forward to each year, a chance for us to acknowledge our great community and each other.

We have been fortunate to secure Dr Michael Carr Gregg in the lead up to National Boarding Week who ran a workshop with the boarding staff, addressing the issues that are common in adolescents and boarders. Dr Michael Carr-Gregg also facilitated a parent session for the wider Westminster Community where he looked at 'The 5 Greatest Challenges Parents Face Today'.

This week also sees us start winter sports, with many of our boarders being involved in Football (boys and girls), Netball, and Badminton. On a Saturday the boarding precinct will be alive and busy, with girls and boys heading off to play for Westminster. If day students and parents are able to provide lifts for our boarders, this is always welcomed. Please contact us via the School if you are able to help.
